I live in northwest Houston, work for a major computer company, and have been interested in astronomy for over 30 years.  My interest in astronomy started at about 6 years old when my father bought me Let's Read About Stars from a local library book sale for 75¢.  Little did he know that 75¢ would later cost him hundreds of dollars as he graciously supported my hobby.  I still have the book!

I also owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to my mentor and hero, Professor Charles Schweighauser.    His love of astronomy and his ability to make complex topics interesting and understandable to both the amateur and layman alike, is truly amazing.   When I was in high school in Springfield, Illinois, Charlie went out of his way to allow me to audit several of his astronomy classes, volunteer at his public star parties, and even give me scope time at the university observatory.   I will never forget his influence in my life and hope I can return a small portion of that through this website and other activities.

Today, one of the greatest pleasures of my life is to spend time at night at my observatory, listening to classical music, as the universe "revolves" around me.  Time flies so fast during those nights, that sometimes I think I can see the stars actually moving and feel the music of the cosmos.
