  NGC 7479

NGC 7479, is a beautiful example of a barred-spiral galaxy.  Some call it the "S" galaxy.  it has very pronounced bar in its arms, but the arms are assymetrical, perhaps due to a relatively recent collision and merger with another galaxy.  It is about 105 million light years away in the constellation Pegasus.  Stats for NGC 7479 are RA: 23h 04m 56.9s, Dec: +12° 19' 16", Mag: 11.6 (B), Size: 4.1'x3.1', Class: SB(s)c.
